Born in 1991, Ella joined The Zoo in 2010. She is very affectionate and loves attention, so she gets along well with most people. However, she doens't always get along with other parrots. She's a bit of a diva!

Umbrella cockatoos are native to the tropical rainforests of Indonesia.
Umbrella cockatoos, also known as white cockatoos, feed on seeds, nuts, fruits, and roots.
During the breeding season, individuals form breeding pairs and separate from the group to find a suitable nest in the hollow of a tree. The female lays white eggs, usually two at a time.
Declining umbrella cockatoo populations are due to trapping for the pet trade and habitat loss for logging and mining.
