Range

Corn snakes live in fieds and forests but will also inhabit old buildings. It is considered good luck to have one in your corn field, because they are protecting your corn from rodents like mice.

Corn snakes eat small rodents and may climb trees for bird eggs. In the wild, corn snakes only eat every few days.


Social Structure

Corn snakes are known to exhibit tail vibration behavior in response to a predator. Due to their tolerance for handling and calm temperament, corn snakes are one of the most popular species of pet snake.
