Diet

This species eats insects, snails, grubs, spiders, and occasionally plant matter.


Social Structure

These hedgehogs are solitary. Their quills make an excellent defense mechanism against predators. When threatened, they will roll up into a ball and protect their vulnerable legs and head while their quills stand upright.
