The Zoo offers a variety of educational programming for children and adults of all age groups and interests, including our award-winning Kids Go Wild, Wildlife on Wheels, Zoo Camp, Guided Tours and Discovery Programs. Through these programs and our static exhibits, The Zoo allows guests to explore multiple aspects of science while having fun.
Wildlife on Wheels is an educational outreach program that brings animal ambassadors to schools, daycares, hospitals, retirement centers, camps, birthday parties, and other locations. These programs are designed to provide information about the animals, including their special adaptations, habitats, behaviors, diets and status in the wild. Topics can be arranged to correspond with classroom projects.
Campers 6-13 years old are invited to spend their breaks with us. Camp runs weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during school breaks.
The Zoo requires a completed and signed contract be returned as soon as possible to confirm the booking. Our self-guided trips and education programs book on a first come, first served basis.
Kids Go Wild is a multi-week, hands-on educational outreach program that brings ambassador animals, artifacts, and other educational materials to schools, community centers, and other locations. This unique program features at least one cross-hatched science and literacy activity or lesson as well as a variety of animal ambassadors and artifacts.
First Encounters gives young children an opportunity to meet various animal ambassadors, including reptiles, small mammals, or birds, with their adult caregiver.
